My love for writing began at a very tender age. My dad- Mr. Francis Anani Vorvor realised and nurtured this gift by buying countless books in English and French for me. I lost my interest for French in my teen years but I wish I still had it. My dad made sure that I read a book a day, go to the public library every weekend and also re-write the story in the kid’s page of the Weekend Spectator (A Ghanaian Newspaper) every Saturday. I remember writing a story while I was in my Junior High School days, but never got it published because I did not trust the person who offered to help.

Fast forward to the year 2000, I was in my first year at the University of Ghana, Legon and I had English as one of my courses of study. I read countless books, analysed them and learnt so much from these books. I loved writing but the fear of my writing being critiqued by my mates stopped me from registering for the creative writing class. (Fear is a crippling emotion that can rob us from fulfilling our purpose on this earth). This same fear led me to refuse to write on Facebook when the Lord prompted me to. I was scared of being judged and marked by others. I did not see my life that exciting to share with others, but God knew better so he gave me another change.

So about three years ago I began writing every weekday to encourage my friends and family on Facebook. So, my book – Gina’s Journey: Still in Transit was birthed from my struggles, challenges, interactions, relationships, my pains and my victories as I journey through life.

This Journey would not have been possible had it not been for the Lord Jesus Christ on my side. When the battle for my life got so intense, Jesus proved to me that He is my saviour and He is always with me. My helper- The Holy Spirit has always been my inspiration and my guide. I am forever grateful.

” Whatever I am now it’s just by the grace of God”
- Georgina Amevor

Family

Georgina Amevor’s birth would not have been possible had it not been for the grace of God. She is a living testimony of the grace of God. She believes that her purpose is to showcase the goodness and greatness of God in her life and the journey she is on. Gina, (as she prefers to be called) is the mother of 4 amazing kids and married to a Prince. He is the force behind her writing and the wind in her sails. Gina and her Prince have been married for more than ten years.

"It is well" is her favourite saying because she believes that whatever comes her way on the journey she is on, the Lord is in it so it will be well. Psalm 124 is her favourite psalm because had it not been the Lord on her side she would not be here today.
